#5: The Léotard
Well, we've already established arm and leg warmers. Maybe I'm on an athleisure theme...
Leotard
Top
Jules Léotard was a star acrobat, a trapeze artist of no mean skill, and a physical wonder of his age, the subject of song and story. All this is forgotten, even as he is immortalized in the tightfitting athletic wear he wore. We should all be so lucky.
Stretchy: If you are wearing no Bottoms or only Bottoms with short, take a +1 bonus Function. Lose this ability if the Leotard is damaged.
Show Off: When you perform physically in front of a crowd you may roll Function Pizazz for the Sequence.
Freedom of Movement: You gain a +3 Move with Grace Grace. Lose this ability if the Leotard is damaged.
Style: +1 Function
Budget: 1
Breakdown
It's only natural an ubiquitous piece of athletic wear give its bonus to Function. Budget is low and things set to balance, yadda, yadda.
No Tags, which is interesting. Happens sometime, but I find a lot of stuff gets one.
Stretchy
While worse than probably wearing Bottoms, I wanted the Leotard to compensate for not wearing pants, because it is frequently worn without them. The fact that you can't take advantage of the stretch if you're wearing something over it makes sense to me.
The shorts exception is mainly so they can still work with leg warmers, tutus, and other over outfits often combined with a Leotard. Wording might be more elegant, but it works.
Show Off
Since normally rolling Function+Pizazz is impossible, this is a weird ability... but for an outfit designed for circus performance and still used frequently in ballet, pro wrestling, ice skating, and gymnastics, it feels like it should let you get away with it.
Freedom of Movement
I'll admit, "Moving with Grace Grace" amuses me, but is correct here.
Basically, you get a +3 you can add to any die in a Sequence if you can describe how moving gracefully helps you achieve a Flair. A nice, sturdy bonus for wearing clothing actually designed to be easy to move in.
And... yeah, that's about it for this one.
